  WE ARE A REGISTERED CHARITY

The Quilling Guild has become a registered charity. Our registration number is 1123927. We are a voluntary organisation, made up of people who love quilling.

Our main aim is to promote the ancient and modern art of quilling for the benefit of the public. There are several ways in which we do this. We work:

• To encourage an interest in Quilling, both past and present.
• To encourage the preservation of Quillings and Quilling equipment both past and present.
• To encourage the creation of quilled artefacts.
• To encourage members to meet and exchange ideas.
• To encourage dissemination and exchange of knowledge between The Quilling Guild and such other similar associations and societies, nationally and internationally.
• To publish a magazine at least three times a year.

We'll let you know more about these endeavours in the News. Watch this space. Now we are a charity, members will have the same benefits as before, though we will have, we hope, more opportunities to fulfil more of the targets we have identified for the Quilling Guild during the quarter of a century or so we have been active. We are also able to claim Gift Aid, which helps to fund more of our projects.

Of course, we couldn't exist were it not for our members. We have a loyal membership, all fascinated by this paper craft and wanting to learn more, to meet others with the same interests and keep in touch through our magazine, 'Quillers Today' and through local Reps. If you have been 'grabbed' by quilling and haven't yet joined the Guild, put your toe in the water! It's lovely in here, whether you're a complete novice or the best ever quiller (not me). See our Membership page for information.

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR LATEST COPY OF 'QUILLERS TODAY'?

Our new Editor is Christine Herring, who is busy preparing the next issue. It will contain news from the regions, articles, designs, colour pictures of quillings and quilling chat and information. Is she the font of all knowledge about quilling? Sadly, no, she would admit, though she has been a member since she was young. Where does she get all this interesting stuff? Does she Google it? No Mystery Writer! Quillers tell her about it and she passes it on to you.

There's no secret, really - it's our members who send her the ideas and info. Are they trained in journalism or professional craftspeople? No again. They're you or me, sitting at home, having just made a card for a friend and thinking, 'That worked quite well. The Guild members might like to make one.'

They're someone who just visited a museum and there, on a table, was a quilled box. It was worth seeing!

They thought they would let Christine know of a quilling get-together in a village hall somewhere, to which you're invited, if you like. Bring your strips and some biscuits.

Why not send something to Christine Herring, at 17 Elderberry Drive, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 3ST, UK? You could email her at QT Editor.

Please remember that all, ideas are worthy of print. Don't be afraid to send in your work as it will give other members inspiration and ideas, and you will also get to see your name in print! All levels and abilities are appreciated as the magazine is read by beginners as well as those who have several years experience. Please can all reps who have reports send them in and any new diary dates would be appreciated for the magazine and website!
